When I type in my postcode, the address isn't showing?

This happens when either the postcode is incorrect or when the postcode is not registered in our address database. Click on the closest address in the dropdown and search for the property manually. Alternatively, verify the postcode on Google.

Can I search by business name?

Yes. As you type the business name, you will see a dropdown of potential address options for that business. Not all businesses are registered in our address database.

How do I delete the red arrow?

A red arrow will identify the address you have selected. To delete this, click on the arrow and select delete on your keyboard or use the dustbin icon in step 3.

How do I get the red arrow back?

If you have deleted the red arrow and would like to get it back, press 'Re-Centre Map' underneath the address search bar.

Can I change the colour and size of the red arrow?

This is not currently possible on edozo.

How do I select different mapping types?

There are a range of mapping types and layers available. Clicking on the drop down in the 'Choose a map' section will show you everything. Select the relevant layer and watch the map update accordingly. You can return to the dropdown at any time when creating a map and flip between layers.

What is Auto-Polygon™ and how do I use it?

Our Auto-Polygon™ tool is linked to the Land Registry to automate Freehold title boundaries in a single click. This saves you the time of manually drawing boundaries and ensures accuracy. To use it, select Auto-Polygon™ from the drawing tools section and click on the property. The freehold red line boundary will automatically generate. Note that this feature only works in England and Wales currently.

Is there an annual subscription fee?

No, you only pay for the maps you use

How do I switch on snap to point?

The snap to point feature can be switched on in the drawing tools section when you are on the MasterMap layer. Simply click on the grey slider button to switch it on.

Can I save a map to edit later?

You can save your work at any time using the ‘Save a draft’ button in the bottom left hand corner. This map will now be available to edit and download in the ‘Draft Maps’ section of ‘My Maps’.

How do I select a polygon, shape or line?"

Select the shape, line or polygon and click on the trash can icon in the drawing tools library.
You can delete everything by clicking on the 'Delete all polygons' trash can.

How do I delete a shape, line or polygon?"

Select the shape, line or polygon and click on the trash can icon in the drawing tools library. You can delete everything by clicking on the 'Delete all polygons' trash can.

How do I add or remove points on a polygon?

Select the polygon and click on the ‘Add/Remove Points’ tool in the drawing library. To add a point simply click on the boundary line and drag it to the desired location. To remove a point, hold down the Alt key and click on the point you would like to remove.

How do I get the area of my polygon or shape?

Select the polygon or shape for which you would like the area. The area calculation will appear in the top right hand corner of the application. You can add this area to the polygon by clicking ‘Add to Polygon’ button underneath the area calculations

How do I add the site area to my polygon?

When your polygon is selected, you will see the area calculation pop-up in the top right-hand corner. At the bottom of this pop-up box, click on the button that says, ‘Add area to polygon’.

How do I measure multiple polygons at the same time?

Select a polygon and hold down the Shift key to select the other polygons you would like included in your total area calculation. The total area will show in the measurement pop-up in the top right-hand corner.

How do I measure a line?

Select the ‘Draw Line’ tool in the drawing tools library. When you start drawing your line you will see the measurement appear in the top right-hand corner. A single click will fix a point in the line and a double click will complete your line drawing to give you the total area of your line.

Can I merge two freehold polygons together?

The merge polygon feature allows you to merge multiple freehold polygons together to create a single polygon or title boundary. Select one of the polygons. Hold down the Shift key and select the other polygons you would like to merge. Then, select the ‘Merge Polygon’ tool from the bottom row of the drawing library.

After merging polygons together, there are residue lines on my map. How do I remove these?"

If there are residue lines on your map after merging, select the polygon and click on the ‘Separate Polygon’ feature from the bottom of the drawing library. You can then select the residue lines or shapes individually and delete them using the trash can button.

My red line boundary is too thick/thin.

You can increase or decrease the line width of your polygon using the line width tool in the drawing library. When you hover over the feature you will see up and down arrows to click or you can manually enter your preferred width.

Can I customize my text box?

When a text box is selected, the text box editing tools automatically appear in the drawing tools library. Here you can change the size, colour and font of the text. You can also change the colour, line width and transparency of the text box itself.

Can I add or remove the boundary on my text box?

You can add or remove the boundary on your text box by selecting it and enabling or disabling the line button in the drawing tools library.

My freehold Auto-Polygon™ includes other shapes or polygons within it, how do I remove these?"

Select the polygon and press on the 'Separate Polygon' tool in the drawing tools library. You will then be able to select the shapes within your polygon individually and delete them using the trash can icon.

Can I duplicate a polygon?

There are two ways to duplicate a polygon or a shape. 1. Right click on the polygon or shape and select 'Duplicate Polygon' 2. Select the polygon or shape and use the 'Duplicate Polygon' tool at the bottom of the drawing library

Can I edit the address?

You can edit the address in the address box in the 'Name your map' section.

Can I search by business name?

Yes. As you type the business name, you will see a dropdown of potential address options for that business. Not all businesses are registered in our address database.

Can I customise the scale of my map?

Yes. Enable the 'Customise Scale' after you have set the print area. This is located under the price. You are then able to click and drag the print frame to your desired size.

The boundary of my map falls outside of the print area.

You can change the size of the print area by either selecting a larger paper format, size or scale from the drop down menu.

How do I centre a map into the print frame?

Click and drag the map to centre it in your print frame or right click on your site and select ‘centre map here’.

How do I switch to a black and white MasterMap?

At the bottom of the page there is a 'colour b/w' button that allows you to toggle between colour and black and white. This can also be changed post purchase.

I cannot see the 'Generate Map'  button to download my map?

The left hand pane with our 6 step process is scrollable up or down. Hover your mouse in the left hand pane and scroll down until you see the 'Generate Maps' button

Can I change the map type post purchase?

This feature is not currently available on edozo Maps.

Can I change the map size post purchase?

This feature is not currently avaialble on edozo Maps.

Is it possible to edit a map post purchase?

To edit a map after purchase, select the edit button. You can use all the drawing tool features and also change the header of your PDF in the address box. Press save and the changes will be implemented, overwriting the previous map.

Will I be charged again for editing my map after I have bought it?

No, there is no extra charge for editing the map post purchase. You can edit the map for free as many times as you like within 12 months from the date of purchase (the Ordnance Survey license period)

Where are my draft maps saved?

Go into 'My Maps' and on the left hand side of the screen you will see a tab for Draft Maps, next to Purchased Maps.

Will I be charged another viewing fee to view my draft maps?

You will not be charged again to view maps in Draft Maps.

Can I add a header and footer to my PDF?

At present you can only add a header which will populate from the text in the address box. Please contact our support desk if you require a custom template for your PDF's.

Can I customise the font and size of the text in my header?

This feature is not currently available on edozo Maps.

My files are taking a long time to generate. Is this normal?

Yes, export data files take longer to generate than normal mapping files. The download speed varies depending on size and number of features included in the export. Logging out of the system will not affect download speeds

Is there a maximum size I can download?

Yes, the system only allows you to export files smaller than 200ha

Is there a minium size I can download?

Yes, the system only allows you to export files larger than 0.03ha

Can I create an export from any mapping layer?

No, the export functionality is only available on the OS MasterMap layer

Can I add a job reference to my export?

Yes, a pop up will appear when you select the OS MasterMap layer. Adding a job reference here will ensure it is included on your monthly usage report. One can also be added in the 'Name your file' section.

Where can I see the size of my export?

Once you have selected an area on the map, the size will appear in metric units in the drawing tools section

Can I edit my area?

Yes, once you have positioned your area on the map use the red outline to increase or decrease the size of the area selected

Can I 'free draw' my area?

The ability to free draw an area is not currently available. It is due to be launched very soon

Are the different layers labelled?

Yes, this is one of our USPs. When you load the data into your drawing software each label is clearly defined.
